The Brand Promise is an advisory firm for individuals, entrepreneurs and organizations of all shapes and sizes who want to increase the value, power and social impact of their brands – and do it through the behavior of people.

Our core belief is that people who have clear personal brand purpose and embrace their own distinctiveness thrive on their own and inside of an organization. Organizations that have clear brand purpose to the people who are most important last. Together, when people and the organization are well aligned, they sustain.

Our behavior-based methodology:

Our leader branding approach, Brand You, pairs corporate, product and service marketing practices with organizational psychology principles so that organizations and individuals can take a balanced approach to defining reasons for action, understanding stakeholders, and aligning behavior to deliver brand-related results.

Our methodology was developed in 2010 for use with undergraduate college students, and was then tested with middle managers in a consumer products company and newly promoted leaders at a diversified industrial company. It has since grown and evolved for its use with firms of all shapes and sizes, and individuals inside and outside of firms.

Our Principal

Perri Richman is a reputation advisor with a passion for building brands through the behavior of leaders, partnering with individuals and organizations undergoing change and transformation.

During her 20+ year corporate career, she held corporate communications, brand and marketing, CSR and ESG roles of roles of increasing importance at American Standard, Ingersoll Rand and Trane Technologies, and at the communications consultancy, Burson-Marsteller with Fortune 500 companies in professional services, automotive, financial services, and consumer packaged goods.

Perri taught undergraduate marketing students about social media at Kean University, and speaks and writes about behavior-based branding and leadership. Her career began in sports marketing and public relations, and for a brief period, she was a sports reporter for a daily newspaper.

Perri earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from New York University and a master’s degree in organizational psychology from the University of Hartford. She is a member of the national board of the non-profit SCORE Mentors and is a co-founder of Kids Supporting Kids. She also serves on the advisory boards of numerous technology start-ups. Perri is a certified executive coach, change leadership professional, and reputation and crisis manager.
